Afternoon Adventure Clubs


Join us for our afternoon adventure clubs!  Each club include field visits to fun and educational sites as well as classroom activities relating to our topic of study.  Please note, classroom days will be held in our location in North Orem.  Those looking for classes in Salt Lake county should check out our partner school, Springboard Academy in Taylorsville.  Classes are open to children ages 3-8 and are held Monday-Wednesday from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM

Cost for each class is $30.00 and includes admission to field sites for children.  Parents are responsible for transportation to all field sites.

Nature Explorers Club:  Plant Life
May 21st-23rd
Field Sites: Thanksgiving Point Gardens & Farm Country
Explore the life cycle of plants, dissect and identify the different plant parts, and discover what part of plants we eat!  

Super Scientists: Dino-Daze
May 28th-30th
Field Sites: BYU Museum of Paleontology, Thanksgiving Point Museum of Ancient Life
Learn about different types of dinosaurs--including those native to Utah, join the Junior Paleontologist club, and create your own fossils! 

Amazing Artists: Texture and Movement
June 4th-6th

Field Sites: BYU Museum of Art, Thanksgiving Point Gardens
Explore various ways of creating texture through art using tempera paints, acrylic paints, and other surprising substances! 

Nature Explorers Club: Amazing Animals
 June 11th-13th
Field Sites: BYU Bean Museum, special visitors from "Critters 2 Go"
Identify mothers and babies, compare the parts of different animals, describe life cycles, and more! 

Super Scientists: Physics for Kids
June 18th-20th
Field Sites: Eyring Science Building (BYU),  Park Visit
Observe how objects move, learn about the laws of gravity, and explore simple machines. 

Nature Explorers Club: Bug-Off
June 25th-27th
Field Sites: BYU Bean Museum, Thanksgiving Point Gardens
Hatch butterflies, explore ladybugs, and find out why bees do more than sting!  

Amazing Artists: Exploring Color
July 9th-11th
Field Sites: BYU Museum of Art, Woodbury Art Museum
Discover primary, secondary, and tertiary colors using tempera paint, watercolors, and oil and chalk pastels. 

Super Scientists: Out of This World
July 16th-18th
Field Site: BYU Planetarium, Clark Planetarium
Explore our solar system, visit the sun,and identify various constellations! 

Amazing Artists: Three-Dimensional Media
July 26th-28th (Wed through Fri)
Field Site: BYU Museum of Art, Thanksgiving Point Gardens
Explore clay, work with wire, and build creations from a variety of found items & loose parts. 

Nature Explorers Club: Let's Rock!
July 30th-August 1st
Field Sites:  Timpanogos Cave, Park Visit
Identify different types of rocks,  describe differences between rocks and minerals, discover the wonder of geodes, and begin your own rock collection!
Note: Children under age 5 must be accompanied by a parent on the Timpanogos Cave field site

Amazing Artists: Representational Drawing & Painting
August 6th-8th
Field Sites: BYU Museum of Art, Covey Center for the Arts
Learn how to represent objects using basic shapes, draw a self portrait, make a cooperative mural, and paint a still life scene with acrylics or tempera paints. 

Super Scientists: The Water Cycle
August 13th-15th
Field Sites: Bridal Veil Falls, Thanksgiving Point Gardens
Identify and describe natural sources of water, explore the three states of water, make a model of the water cycle, and learn about important ways to conserve this precious resource.
