Developmental Programs

Our developmental preschool and kindergarten program is a child-centered environment where children are provided with the key elements for growth and development: time, materials, and balanced guidance.  Our "Early Learners" program serves children from 2 to 6 years of age and our "Kinder-Garden" program serves children ages 4-6 (up to 1st Grade).

Teaching Philosophies
Our approach to your child's education in their early years is eclectic, drawing from best practices from around the world. We incorporate "developmentally appropriate practice" with rich educational programs recognized world-wide as exceptional programs for young children. We primarily incorporate two philosophies that originated in Italy: the Reggio Emilia approach and the Montessori approach. The Reggio approach is community-based, emergent, exploratory, and creative while the Montessori approach is individualized, linear, structured, and predictable. We have found integrating the strengths of the two approaches provides a unique, engaging learning opportunity for young children. Our result is a comprehensive, child-centered curriculum based on children's individual learning needs. In order to ensure children receive a fully balanced education we have also carefully selected research-based, developmentally appropriate supplemental curriculum in reading, handwriting, mathematics, and science. Our curriculum meets and exceeds the Utah state curriculum guidelines for preschool and K-2nd grade classes.
